Baby-Friendly Toolkit supports families
The Saskatchewan Health Authority (SHA) has a toolkit to help businesses support and welcome families with their child feeding choices anywhere, any time.
The toolkit provides tips, posters and resources to help create public spaces that are welcoming for families to feed their infants and young children. It is part of a much larger baby-friendly initiative to ensure breast/chest feeding is protected, promoted and supported.
“We want families to feel empowered in continuing to breast/chest feed in the community,” said Andrea Toogood, Public Health Nutritionist and one of many who worked on the toolkit. “Breastfeeding is a human right. It’s important that businesses feel confident in supporting families to feed their child in any way that works for them.”
Supporting baby-friendly spaces in Saskatchewan communities shows our commitment to the SHA’s CARES values of compassion, accountability, respect, equity, and safety, making our province a better place for all, every day.
